DSL is back to full speed. Sorry about the downtime, it shouldn't happen again (as long a Verizon doesn't decide to shut me off).

Not much new at distanthaze.com--too busy at work to do a whole lot with it lately.

Server has been down. Boss thought I would be a good DSL person to be the guinea pig for the new ATM DS3 we are putting in. Got the DSL line switched over, but the ATM isn't talking correctly to our router. So my DSL is down. Hopefully will be back on soon.

Working a lot with Sendmail and LDAP. If you get any funky messages with "test" as the subject please ignore, that's just me testing things. I had the funkiest problem, mail from one user was giving me a configuration error in Sendmail (the famous MX loops back to me problem). It was only with that specific account though! Came to find out that the LDAP admin tool I was using, Directory Administrator, was inserting user@mail.distanthaze.com into the deliver to attribute in LDAP. I had forgotten to put this alias for my machine in /etc/mail/local-host-names, hence the error. It only occurred on accounts I edited/created with DA though. Problems like this can make you want to pull your hair out!

Switched the "News" section to be the main page. Don't know why--just seemed like the thing to do. :^)

A new section, "Who's on?" has replaced the "News" section and contains the previous main page content.

Webmail is back! I finally got webmail working again--that was driving me insane! Sorry about the outage. Distanthaze.com is now running on LDAP for authentication. This shouldn't change anything (except breaking webmail for a bit).

Let me know if there are any other problems with services.
